Senator John Kerry has already accepted the Democratic presidential nomination but his popularity among minority voters may be less than universal. Repeatedly boasting his record of military service already has some voters disentchanged and campaign pin doctors are uniquely speechless.
Tranh Park, a Veitnamese-American shop keeper says "I'm all about letting bygones be bygones but how many times is he going to brag about him and his buddies mowing down uncle Charlie and doing the happy dance?"
While analysts justify that there have been very few North Vietnamese nationals permitted to emigrate to the US, what's been overlooked is how many South Vietnamese expatriots left close family heing in the communist north during a time of rapid political polarization.
"Saigon" Suzie Davidson, a GI wife snatched up in '69 tells Glossy News "[my] parents owned our family farm near the border. Dad was drafted into the vietcong to fight in a war he didn't understand or support. He had no Canada to hide in, so people like [Senator John Kerry] killed him. Kerry wasn't drafted like my father, he chose to kill," adding "Bush may be a huge lunatic but he never killed anybody, not that he admits and not that he goes around bragging about."
One Whitehouse correspondant humorously pointed out, "whoever thought we'd have a democrat bragging about his successes in Vietnam as part of his campaign for the Whitehouse?"
Skeptics suggest looking past his claims of diversity for taking an African wife, who is both white and a billionaire. John Kerry has yet to personally speak out on the allegations that he's reveled in "gunning for gooks", "agent oranging the yellows" or "penny-coated the slant-eyes".
While these questions may never be answered, critics and fans alike agree that the theme of these accusations offend even the dullest of sensibilities, almost as much as does this article itself.
