We're speaking with Dale Kernie. He's a singer, song writer and true patriot. He was even recently featured in the documentary Everything is Everything. We had a chance to catch up with Dale recently at his home recording studio, and we're very grateful for his time.

Dale, thanks for joining us. Let's jump right in. The film really works wonders to highlight your musical career. Despite their mixed coverage of your work, how has Everything is Everything is Everything advanced your profession as a musician?
And quite how! Appearing in this documentary was a very tremendous thing for my career! I've met a lot of people and for sure a lot more people know my voice or at least my face! You and I both know, though, that a face and a voice are the keys behind the ideal head. I feel that with this exposure, I'm a little closer to having a perfect head!

Do you feel that Everything is Everything portrayed your shortcomings with minimal mention of all your many gifts and strong suits?
It's always been hard for a person like me to expect anything less than the unexpected. That's why nothing bothers me anymore and as you can see, I have a smile on my face, a huge smile in fact, that I consider to be an equally huge blessing. So yes, thank you for the compliment and no, I'm not worried about my shortcomings!

What made you feel drawn to holiday and patriotic music?
Well, I don't know, why don't you ask yourself what the number one reason for people being together is! Why don't you tell me what you did last Thanksgiving? Why don't you tell me what the number one country is in the world? I'll let you figure this question out, mister!

Have you considered writing (or been asked to write) a theme song for your new associate Justin Justice?
Have I ever been asked to write one, no. Have I written one anyway, yes! Do I sing it to him, no. Justin has always kept his communication with me to a minimum, which I've learned to live with. I think he see's me a young brother figure because he likes picking on me. I don't know!

Everything is Everything has a strong, powerful soundtrack, yet from it's flavor as well as from the ending credits, it doesn't seem as though you were allowed to provide so much as a single dischordal note. Why didn't they employ you to score the film?
I think it may have been a crossfire or sorts that nobody wanted on their plates. It's like having a cooking show where all they chefs bake is cookies. Of course, everyone will be pleased and their tummies will be full, but who really can bear to eat cookies all day long? I can probably name a few, but that's besides the point.

With all your natural talent and charisma how come you aren't married yet? (If anything, the film clearly shows you aren't gay, sadly.)
I've considered hunting for that perfect mate, which may bring about the perfect wedding song, but am I willing to tie that diggidy dog knot so soon? The answer is maybe. Let's just say I will keep my eyes peeled and my heart racing! (I would love to sing at my wedding! A hoot riot!)

Have you had any interaction with Brock, Chris or any of the other Studio 8 guys since seeing the way their film portrayed you?
I have been around their headquarters from time to time, but those guys usually just stick to mocking me. Especially Brock and Truston. I don't feel particularly comfortable around them, either. Although they are considering having me write some more songs for them!

If your music somehow fails to catch on in America, which country would you most consider moving to so you could provide a much needed series of patriotic songs? (Bear in mind there are always new dictatorial regimes taking power in need of good propaganda music.)
I'm not a big political tiger like other people, but my heart might as well be shaped the same shape that America is because America is what I am and always will be.

Does lemon juice, salt water or milk best grease the gears of the harmony factory commonly known as your velveteen throat?
What is this? This sounds silly to me, like maybe you're the one playing some pranks! Are you telling the jokes today? If you are, then say so!

Not a bit, many singers treat their voices before singing to prolong voice health. What advice would you give to children searching for a role model in today's topsy-turvy world?
Stay within yourself and do your best to figure out what is the real blood straming through your heart. I was lucky to find mine early and now I work hard everyday to be sure of myself that there are people in this world who need me. My efforts and passion often go unnoticed or some people just ignore me and say mean things to me. I just look past them, look in the mirror, then up at the sky and fly away in my own little imaginary world where I am the king of the nation and pride is the natural nature of it all.

Thank you, it was nice meeting you!
Bye!
