Pat Robertson Prays for Elton John's Demise

"Oh please oh please oh please." Elton iritates the sh*t out of Robertson.

After praying for the retirement of three Supreme Court Justices, Televangelist Pat Robertson has urged his nationwide audience to pray for another retirement, this one a singer/songwriter known for his Crocodile Rock and a Candle in the Wind.

"We ask for a miracle in regard to the music industry. Would you join me and many others in crying out to our Lord to give this singer/songwriter AIDS so that he would just go away and be replaced by a wholesome, heterosexual entertainer like Britney Spears?” Robertson asked viewers of his Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN).

Robertson stopped short of naming Elton John, although he did say the entertainer in question is known to wear “women’s sequined costumes, big glasses, and platform

shoes while playing the piano,” in a letter on the 700 Club website. “Would it not be possible for God to put it into his mind that the time is right to either retire or die and meet Satan in the boughs of Hell?”

Robertson and many others on the religious right have condemned gay entertainers for promoting an unhealthy and immoral lifestyle, not to mention causing God’s wrath on 9-11. Critics of John and others make the argument that gay entertainers have “opened the door to sexual promiscuity, open minded liberalism, and snazzy fashion sense that threaten the very fabric upon which this great nation was founded.”

But Robertson’s prayers have so far fallen on deaf ears, as John is in negotiations for a three year contract with Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas that could make him $54 million richer. It seems as though either Robertson’s direct line to the Lord has been disconnected, or God can’t get enough of Benny and the Jets.
