Perhaps it was just a matter of time, but Katrina Darrell's unauthorized "adult" photos have finally shown up online. Confidential sources have told Glossy News that the amateur photos were sold, along with brief video footage, to Joe Francis of Girls Gone Wild fame for a sum in excess of $50,000. As of press time, representatives for Ms. Darrell, Joe Francis, Girls Gone Wild, and American Idol have yet to respond to questions.
Bikini Girl made her splash on American televisions as the outspoken, poor-sung harpy on the hit Fox television show American Idol's infamous weeks of terrible auditions. Though she can only sing roughly as well as I can, and I'm no American Idol, Fox executives saw something undeniable about her so wonderful they just had to put her through to Hollywood.
Maybe they couldn't put their finger on it, but somebody surely had before, because Katrina "Bikini Girl" Darrell has a whole set of photos taken in early 2008, very few of which include any clothing at all, and they're now being sold by the photographer.
Sources report that the creative license to the set was signed over in exchange for a "nominal photo shoot fee", believed to be between $200 and $500.
Bikini Girl is perhaps best remembered for her pre-elimination comment that she is not an exotic dancer. When Idol judge Kara DioGuardi commented she should return for the next round of judging and "bring the pole", she commented that she isn't a stripper, but that she does have a pole in her bedroom, but only for fitness purposes.
What a strange thing to own if you're not in the industry. I'm not a welder, and I don't own a torch, welder's mask, or heavy leather apron… but I'm starting to think maybe I should.
Reportedly the photographs do not feature any other persons, neither male nor female, and that the full gallery will not be available until at least March, and only by paid subscription at that time.
