Let’s not forget: the need to keep the moral high ground is not the same as the fact of being morally superior.
We mustn’t respond to bad ideas or ideals with hatred or condemnation for the person.
We have to meet people where they are.
Every one of us stands imperfect.
Vote No doesn’t make you a better person. What it should do is make you a broken person, a fallen person, like us all, who is trying to stand up for what is right.
The Persian poet said we are all songbirds with a broken wing.
Judge ideas, judge laws, but always remember the sacredness of the person.
Vote No to wrong ideals and agendas; but never Vote No to women who have had abortions, or to anyone who advocates for it.
Vote No is not about who is good, and who is evil.
Save The 8th is about what ideals we all stand for.
Keep The 8th is about the future we dream of for ALL our people.
That includes women who have had abortions.
That includes feminists.
That includes atheists.
It’s everyone.
Anger is not always bad.
But anger and hatred are not the same thing.
We may hate certain customs or ideas; but the moment we see the deed and the idea as the person themselves, our own souls are in mortal danger.
The 8th Ref is a chance to help love and justice join hands.
And what God has put together, let no-one draw apart.
Whether you are Christian, Jewish, atheist, anything else, the principle is the same.
We are fighting against a great social evil; but we are not making war on people with whom we share a common life.
#LoveBoth must never be left an empty slogan.
#VoteNo because our heart bleeds with sorrow for women, men and infants.
Not because it burns with futile, uncontrollable rage against beautiful people, made in God’s image.
“For Man looks at the inside; it is God who discerns the heart.”
The moral high ground is not what you are.
It’s where you aspire to, and it’s who you’re trying to become.
The most beautiful, sacred person you were always meant to be.
