In the world media’s struggle to find enough material to fill the void left by Michael Jackson’s death, it has come to light that a race of intelligent extraterrestrial life forms visited Earth in late June.
Unfortunately, their presence went unnoticed by everyone except a few NASA scientists due to the world’s preoccupation with the death of the King of Pop.
The alien spacecraft appeared over Southern California on the 26th of June, one day after Michael Jackson’s untimely death in Los Angeles. NASA’s expensive scientific instruments immediately noted the alien presence in the sky, and scientists quickly began to attempt to establish contact with the visitors, but to no avail.
“It was really frustrating to not be able to talk to them,” said Dr. Adam Baum. He added, “We worked really hard to fix the communication problems without taking any breaks…but we eventually slowed down and wondered why no one had come asking why there was a large spaceship hovering over Santa Barbara.”
Studies done in the past days reveal that, like the rest of the country, the population of Santa Barbara was glued to coverage over Michael Jackson’s death, and thus failed to notice the spaceship floating overhead.
Local inquiries appear to confirm the studies results. When asked if she had noticed anything unusual in the past few weeks, Santa Barbara resident Sarah Ovis answered, “Other than Michael Jackson dying?”
NASA attempted to gain the public’s attention by notifying media outlets of the alien craft’s presence, but most reporters were not interested in doing story unrelated to Michael Jackson. Producer of the news program Newspeak, Joe Guvpaun, acknowledges receiving a phone call from NASA, but says, “Why should we stop covering Michael Jackson? People are obviously interested in it, and interest is ratings. People might not be interested in UFOs.”
NASA scientist Ulysses F. Overmyer says that this sort of response was typical. “The lack of interest in something so monumental was irritating, to tell the truth,” added Overmyer, “So we decided to stop trying to notify the outside world and just focus on making contact with the alien spacecraft.”
The scientists’ efforts were finally rewarded in the early hours on Sunday, July 8.
At 2:33 AM EST, NASA received the world’s first known alien transmission from the spacecraft. It said: WHICH WAY TO NEVERLAND RANCH?
NASA responded with coordinates to the infamous homestead of the late King of Pop. Moments later, it was reported that a large bouquet of flowers with a card reading “Planet Xenu Misses You, Michael!” materialized out of thin air at the makeshift memorial set up by fans at Neverland Ranch.
The alien spaceship departed shortly after, but not before conveying one final message to NASA: WILL BE BACK FOR MJ TRIBUTE CONCERT. TTYL.
